Welcoming New Board Members and Staff this Season at Indexical

๐ŸŽ‰ Indexical is growing this season! ๐ŸŽ‰ We'd like to introduce our new staff and board members Brooke Wentz, Douglas Murray, Kira Dralle, and Michael Flora!

Brooke Wentz



Our new board member Brooke Wentz is a respected music rights executive, author, music supervisor, and Billboard award winning producer. She founded two music companies - The Rights Workshop and Seven Seas Music. Prior to launching these companies, Brooke ran ESPN's music department, managed A&R for Arista Records and was a former radio host. She has a forthcoming Columbia University Press publication of interviews she conducted with a wide range of NYC musicians and is producer on a forthcoming documentary about singer, songwriter Janis Ian. While working as a radio host for WKCR at Columbia University, she interviewed major musical figures such as Laurie Anderson, John Cage, Ravi Shankar, Joan La Barbara, Andrew Cyrille, and Living Colour.

Douglas Murray



Our new board member Douglas Murray loves to work with creative filmmakers, musicians, and sound junkies. Douglas is a (mostly retired) supervising sound editor, sound designer, and sound mixer for feature films and television, principally at Skywalker Sound. He won an Emmy for Hemingway and Gellhorn, and a Golden Reel for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for his sound editing. He has been nominated for eleven other Golden Reels, two other Emmys, and for two Cinema Audio Society awards for outstanding sound mixing.

Kira Dralle



This season, Kira Dralle joined Indexical as the Program Coordinator. She holds a PhD in Cultural Musicology from UC Santa Cruz where she wrote her dissertation on reparative histories of Black American musicians in early jazz scenes in occupied Paris. Kira also holds an MA/MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and has organized events for over a decade throughout the Bay Area with organizations such as the Northern California Performance Platform, bridging conversations between music, visual art, dance, and public scholarship.

Michael Flora



Michael Flora joins the team as the Technical Manager. He is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ben Lomond, CA. Informed by architecture, systems, perceptual psychology, visual arts, and computer music, his works often take the form of large scale installation and performance.
