Indexical Program Coordinator
Non-Exempt (32 hrs / week)
Salary: $18 – $22/hr DOE

Indexical is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist with the operations of a venue, presenting organization, and exhibition space at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director to plan, execute, and support a year-long series of experimental music performances, exhibitions, residency programs, and site-specific projects in collaboration with a range of local and national arts institutions. Our hope is that this position will grow into a more specialized role over time, and we are committed to the professional development of the individual in this position.

Requirements
- Strong passion for experimental and radical art, experimental music, and performance-based work
- Strong writing skills, with a focus on clearly conveying ideas in a range of writing outlets and styles
- Ability to engage professionally and calmly with patrons, rental customers, artists, contractors, and other venues as a representative of Indexical
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines
- Ability to maintain professional and prompt correspondence with artists and outside collaborators
- Proficiency in a range of software programs, especially Adobe Creative Suite and audio editing software (e.g., Reaper)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Marketing & Curatorial Responsibilities (60%)
- Compile marketing information from artists & curators for online listings, proofreading and editing as necessary
- Ensure artistic contracts are in place on-schedule and in alignment with curatorial deadlines
- Distribute event information to local journalists and community calendars
- Write and manage email marketing campaigns (1-2 per week)
- Write and manage social media campaigns (2-3 per week)
- Manage production and deadlines for quarterly print calendar
- Coordinate deadlines and projects with outside design contractors
- Manage design, production, and distribution of posters for selected events
Production Responsibilities (40%)
- Schedule volunteers and sound engineers and ensure they have the necessary information from performers
- Manage venue rental inquiries and ensure that rentals are supported by staff or contractors as needed
- Assist with production of special events as needed
- Act as house manager and primary artist liaison for events as needed
- Organize and manage archive of live performances
